14 and my mom wont let me wear makeup?!?!?

well my mom didnt even start wearing makeup until she got married but thats a nother story and they didnt hav emakeup but all the girls my age even younger wear makeup and she wont let me. well actually i ahvent really asked her because im afraid to. im 14 years old for petes sake!!!!!!!!! it is so not fair what should i do?
