When does the 4 week trial period apply, after going through consultation and getting the role?

Hi this is difficult without more info but here goes. If by consultation you mean as a result of redundancy and that this is new role or significantly changed role then it could argued that this is a reasonable alternative. However, making you pay your own travel or disadvantaging you financially is not. If it is not redundancy then you are not contractually obliged to agree. My advice would go to the Citizens Advice or pay �50 for an hour's session with an employment law lawyer and get some advice. Another option is to contact your union if you have one.
