Do midway piercings hurt?

So I was going to go get my cartilage tomorrow but I realized that my cartilage is like really really thick haha so I'm going to get my midway done...Basically the part between the cartilage and the lobe kinda across from the tragus. Does that hurt? It doesn't seem like it'd be much different then a regular lobe piercing.
